Instructions

    Cut kataifi into short strands and toss with melted butter.

    Press half into a pan, then spread cheese evenly.

    Cover with remaining kataifi and press firmly.

    Bake at 180C for 20-25 minutes until golden.

    Boil sugar, water, and lemon juice into syrup, pour over hot knafeh, and top with pistachios.

Tips

Drain cheese slightly for better texture.
Combine syrup and pastry while both are hot.
